Revision of the Airport Charges Directive

On 29th June Ramon Tremosa i Balcells (MEP) and A4E hosted an event about “Airlines and European Tourism: The importance of efficient connectivity for competitiveness”.

More than 100 guests joined the five panelists at the European Parliament to discuss why European travellers pay unreasonably high charges, airlines are left in the dark on the costs they have to cover, and airports don‘t seem concerned with efficiency.

York Aviation presented new data showing that the current European framework does not support passengers benefiting from the revenues they generate when they travel.

Louise Congdon (Managing Partner, York Aviation), Martin Gauss (CEO, airBaltic), Jasmin Taylor (Managing Director, JT Touristik GmbH) and Willie Walsh, (CEO, International Airlines Group) joined A4E’s Thomas Reynaert on the panel.
