Policy Officer – Airlines for Europe (A4E)

A4E is looking for a motivated and experienced Policy Officer to join its team in Brussels. S/he will support the policy team in implementing advocacy campaigns on behalf of A4E’s members – in particular in the fields of aviation sustainability, passenger rights, airspace/ATM efficiency, aviation taxation, safety and airport charges – ensuring that their interests are effectively represented and that the association’s voice is heard. S/he will report directly to a Policy Director.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Excellent communicator (oral and written) in English with a proven ability to conduct policy research and analysis. Knowledge of an additional European language (e.g. French/German/Spanish) is a plus
  • A passion for, and knowledge of, the EU, its processes and policies
  • A strong interest in aviation and the airline industry as well as in government affairs
  • Flexibility to multi-task, ability to perform under tight deadlines and a hands-on mentality
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team in a multicultural environment
  • Good knowledge of the EU institutions and legislative processes, gained through working in industry, government relations or EU affairs. Prior experience in the aviation industry or transport sector is a plus
  • A minimum of 2-3 years proven work experience
  • An academic background in international relations/European affairs, economics or political science (Master’s degree or similar)
  • Skilled organiser, capable of managing a challenging agenda with competing priorities

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Work in a dynamic, diverse and international team in the heart of the EU quarter
  • Be uniquely involved with the aviation industry and European airlines in particular
  • Contribute to the visibility of airline industry priorities in the EU policy landscape
  • Help to coordinate initiatives with other associations
  • Help draft association positions, interact closely with airline members, support and help coordinate the work of assigned A4E Working Groups, Expert Groups and Taskforces

Communications Officer -Airlines for Europe (A4E)

A4E is looking for a motivated and experienced Communications Officer (M/F) to join its team in Brussels. S/he will support the Communications Director and wider policy team in the management of all internal and external communications activities, including A4E campaigns on sustainability, airspace reform, taxation and more – ensuring a holistic, multi-channel approach throughout. The ideal candidate is a hands-on, enthusiastic, social media savvy communicator who is able to juggle multiple tasks under tight deadlines and excel in a fast-paced environment. S/he will report directly to the Communications Director.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Excellent writing and editing (fluent oral and written English – native speaker preferred). Knowledge of an additional European language (e.g. French/German/Spanish) is a plus.
  • Superb communicator with a proven ability to take initiative and multi-task.
  • Skilled organiser, capable of managing A4E events from start to finish.
  • A strong interest in aviation and the airline industry as well as in public affairs. (Prior experience in the aviation industry or transport sector is a plus).
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to work in a small team in a multicultural environment.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years proven work experience.
  • An academic background in public communication/public affairs/journalism/international relations.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office/Photoshop (plus)

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Draft and edit A4E fact sheets, press releases, and other communications materials.
  • Create and promote content in A4E social media channels, including Twitter and LinkedIn.
  • Edit and update A4E website copy/visuals.
  • Manage and organise ad-hoc media interventions.
  • Support the development and execution of a pan-European communications campaign
  • Support the development of website, videos, and other campaign-specific communications assets.
  • Manage weekly members’ newsletter.
  • Work in a dynamic, diverse and international team in the heart of the EU quarter.
  • Be uniquely involved with the aviation industry and European airlines in particular.
  • Contribute to the visibility of airline industry priorities in the EU policy landscape.
  • Help to coordinate initiatives with other associations and key stakeholders.
