Removing unjustified burdens and protecting the mobility of passengers and goods

A4E’s unique set up stems from worrying trends that require particular attention to ensure that unjustified burdens on airlines and their passengers are removed. The right balance needs to be found to ensure that the mobility of travellers in Europe is not unnecessarily hindered by artificially determined levies, inadequate regulation and lingering legislation. To that end, A4E has launched campaigns aimed at tackling excessive airport charges, reinvigorating EU airspace reform, eliminating unfair aviation taxes, as well as addressing urgent environmental and passenger rights issues. In addition, with rising concerns over Europe’s economic competitiveness, the digitalization of societies and industries, global security threats and pressure on Schengen’s internal borders, airlines are committed to playing a key role in facilitating the safe and secure flow of passengers and goods to, from and within the continent.
